This custom built post & beam barn / garage in Litchfield Ct. is a true testament to the variety of options that we can offer in one building.  The horse barn itself is a 36’ x 48’ center aisle single story barn with 4 stalls, wash stall, very large tack room / office, and wash room with bathroom.  The garage part of the building is a 24’ x 36’ two car garage with utility room in the back corner.  The size of this building on the first floor created a very large attic space that we enlarged by adding some dormers which in turn gave us more options for windows.  We wanted to keep as much of the custom post & beam frame exposed as we could and added a few extra details like the curved angle braces and cathedral ceilings throughout the second floor.  This is all used as office space so we added a full kitchen and two bathrooms.  All of the cabinets including the file cabinets in the office areas where custom built by us.  Because the complete second floor was used for office work space we built a separate hay barn for their hay storage.
